Ala (16) sits on the bed while Mahu (21) gets ready for the wedding night. Arha is one of the last villages in the area where the tradition of guests preparing the newly wed couple for sexual intercourse still exists. Guests leave the room when bride and groom are fully naked. This is considered to be encouraging rather than embarrassing, although less and less newly weds follow the tradition. (SO/MocuPictures)
