A young woman embraced a stray dog in the forest. As municipality dog shelters lack appropriate funding and conditions to host dogs, many municipalities choose to collect stray dogs in their territory and leave them in forest areas in the outskirts of the city. Volunteers gather every Sunday to provide food, clean water, and veterinary care for the dogs, and bury the dead, as every week, a number of dogs are usually killed by other dogs in fierce fights for hegemony and food.
